• I was here, not drinking beer, 2006 was the year..

  • 12/27/06: Well, after a lot of thinking (and having basically zero access to my Rock.com e-mail because it LAGS like MAD), I've decided to change e-mail accounts for DXFgames. The new contact e-mail for DXF is now DXFGames@Gmail.com. G-mail is a LOT more reliable (and a thousand times faster to load, by god) than Rock.com ever was. Of course, now there's the matter of the old e-mail address being on literally THOUSANDS of downloaded games out there!! It's going to be rough but this will be worth it in the end, true believers!

12/16/06: Wow, 'tis the season for game reviews! I got ANOTHER one from FanotheRPG for Lab Rat #37 from issue #8 of his online clickzine Slimaczek. And he actually WON it, which is quite a feat since even I have a lot of trouble winning that game. (Note to self: Try not to make too many more games that are as difficult as Lab Rat!) Good job, buddy, and your review's been added to the site as of now.

12/15/06: I got a good review from Ganondorf1984 for Equin Village's demo and it's now up with the rest of them. I've also done a blog on Myspace that links to my game reviews that I've done on GameFAQs for some of my favorite old NES and SNES games from way back. Since so many of them are big influences on me today, I thought it might be relavant to some degree. Back to EQ3L, I've done the initial 2d sprite for the main character and it's coming out great so far! His name is also going to be....... DEL DUIO! Yep, same as the name I used to use while bowling in Maine (and also my Daily Click handle). Ain't that something else?

12/12/06: If somebody would've told me years ago one night at 2am (while I was pounding my head trying to work out some monster damage equation debugging or something) that Equin Village would not only be completed, but uploaded to the internet from my own website and downloaded 250 times, I would've said they were full of it. Yet here we are, and it's true at last! I'd just like to thank everybody who either tried the free demo or bought the full version of the game. From somebody who slaved on it for over three years, I thank you!!

12/3/06: Well, the most important news to date is that Equin 3: Legacy will not feature the Mrque open 3d engine afterall. I'm going to come up with another main game engine myself, which will be in 2d. I have the inventory system completed though, so that will still be be in there- no need to scrap something that works fine and is actually pretty good, IMO. There's an early screenshot of what this subscreen looks like up on the "In the Works" page. More later.

11/21/06: Well, another year zips hastily by, and now I'm a 32 year old. Equin 3's title is going to be called Equin 3: Legacy. It takes place about 50 years after the events first seen in Equin Village. You are the grandson of Equin, and you set out upon the world to make your mark. I'm not 100% sure this will feature the Mrque 3d engine afterall, so we'll have to wait and see what's up. Sorry for the delay between postings, there's a lot going on.

11/6/06: Hi everybody! I put up not one, but TWO new reviews for none other than the new Necropolis Rising. They were both from people who bought the full version (Thank you very much!) and are both pretty honest. One is good, the other is not so good. If you have a review you'd like to submit, please send it to me via e-mail and I'll post it up here. See you next time!

11/3/06: Well, now that NR's finally behind me it's time to finally turn to my next project, and this one's going to be huge (if I can help it!). It's going to be the 3rd Equin game, and it's only in planning stage so don't expect too much information about it anytime soon. All I can say is that it's going to borrow heavily on already-established people and places from the other 2 games in the series, Equin Adventures and Equin Village. Not only that, but it will also borrow some good ideas from my old unreleased "3rd Equin game" on my computer here called Equin Search. I will say though that Equin Search is NOT the new title. There's also going to be a little bit of the game "Undertown" in places too. Why don't you take some time to replay those Equin games, or, if you haven't downloaded them yet- what are you waiting for? (Maybe you'll even buy the full version of Equin Village and win it before this new one comes out- Naw, probably not!) More as it becomes available!!

10/26/06: Woo baby! Necropolis Rising has had a whopping (for me) 106 downloads in less than 3 days!! And not only that, the full version of NR has had the glitch fixes implemented as well. Holy crap guys, it's shaping up to be a big draw after all! Thanks to everyone!

10/25/06: FIXES! You gotta' love them ole tyme fixes! I uploaded a new version of NR's demo that fixes the "sword stuck" glitch. There is now a slight delay between swings that fixes this nicely. Also, when you'd move back to a previous screen you'd see the old enemies get destroyed from before. This no longer happens. Now I'm off to do the same fixes to the full version, AIYEEEE!!!!

10/23/06: Necropolis Rising is.... OUT NOW!! Surprise! Yep, it's no longer on the 28th, I figured, hell, it's all done so I may as well release the damn thing, right? So yes, the demo is free of course, and the full version is only $5 US via paypal. Enjoy the game, and download both version HERE!

10/15/06: I did some testing today of NR on a friend's computer. A few things. Firstly, his computer is way better than mine. Second, when run at its full potential, NR's enemies were FAST!! Too fast, in fact, as it made the game a bit too hard. I also noticed that the lack of any significant offensive magic near the start of the game was kind of a drag too. So, here's what I did: I reduced every enemy's movement speed so make it playable on a decent machine. But more importantly, the spell Ghost Scout has been given a new name and a new use. It's now called Ghost Missle, and in addition to doing what it already did (draw out the enemy and get them to chase it around as a decoy), you can also use it as a guided missile to kill enemies from afar. Hooray! See, I'm constantly looking to improve on my games for you guys- even at the 11th hour!

10/14/06: Well, ain't that a fine "how do you do?" It looks like my cheapie message boards were ganked at the source. Oh well, I guess you get what you pay for as far as that goes. At least I got to "meet" some of you on them like Roonik, ShieldOne, DaVince, FanotheRPG, and Iammine. I just want to say that although the tagboard has crapped the bed, the DXF Games customer service still stands. If you have any questions or comments or whatever, you'll just have to e-mail me to DXFgames@rock.com from now on. My new work is in a state of transition and it's really tough on all of us regular Joes, but ol' Necropolis Rising is still on schedule. I think I'm going to have my buddy Ninja Bradley hook me up with some cool sound programs and gear to help with the audio a bit. We'll have to see!

10/9/06: Necropolis Rising's release date is official! Barring some huge, gigantic snafu, HD failure, or massive power outage, the game will be available here on October 28th, 2006! There will be two versions available for download- A free demo (see demo limitations on the Necropolis Rising page), and the entire full version. The full version will cost a scant $5 US. Y'know all those commercials saying how for the price of a cup of coffee, blah, blah, blah? Well, for the cost of a Large regular coffee and a bacon egg and cheese on coissant you can get your mitts on a spankin' new copy of Necropolis Rising! See you then!

9/28/06: Necropolis Rising's Underworld is expanding in a big way! Now not only are there are multiple entrances to it (locked, of course), but the areas look different too. One of them is hot-themed, complete with fissure cracks and shooting fire. The other large underground area looks darker and is complete with secret walls, barrels, and thief treasures! This effectively makes the Underworld the largest area in the entire game now, if you add up both dungeon areas.

9/27/06: FanotheRPG has translated a recent review from Slimezine for Undertown for me and it's now up on the games reviews page. The scoring system for Slimezine is a little weird, instead of 1-10 they do 0-6 and also have pluses and minues to boot. (Kind of like a report card, C+, B-, etc.) Undertown got a 6- , which I think would be about an A or A-. That's not bad!

9/24/06: Okay, so now I have a screenshot up for all six game areas on the NR page. The latest one is the underworld, which can only be accessed through the full version of the game. It's here that you'll also run into the black bats for the first time. They're very fast, and since they fly over your head you can't whack them with your sword. You'll have to use magic to kill them, and they're very fast to catch up with. The underground area is the 2nd largest area in the game, and is largely filled with blackened tombstones, lava rock walls, spear traps, and enemies galore. There are also some awesome treasures here too, though, so a bit of exploration for those who want to will go a long way.

9/23/06: I am working on a separate page for Necropolis Rising. You can get a sneak peak of what I have so far HERE. More to come later!

9/21/06: I've updated some of the general information about Necropolis Rising on the "In The Works" page, as well as put up two newer screenshots to show you a bit more of the game world. The King's Castle has furniture in it and etc, as well as area-specific enemies that should prove to be a big pain in the ass for our anti-hero!

9/15/06: Hey everybody, I have the English translation of the Slimaczek interview up now. It's very informative- mostly about how long-winded I tend to be about games and programming in general. Go and see it while you still can!

9/14/06: I was interviewed by FanotherRPG for a Polish Clickzine called Slimaczek last month, and now the article is out! It's all in Polish, which is expected but it's really strange to see my words in such a different-structured language! I put the original article up in the games review page for now, and once the translated copy becomes available I'll post that too so you can understand it. Unless you know Polish, of course! You can see the original article at their site HERE.

9/10/06: I posted the review of Lab Rat #37 that Roonik sent me the other day today. Thanks buddy, it's very fair IMO. As far as Necropolis Rising is concerned, I made one of the boss enemies and it came out awesome. He's a red knight on an armored warhorse and guards something important to the game's story. And, he's challenging but not in an impossible way.

9/8/06: Now back to some happy news! I have a new job now and the scheduling is a bit different than what I had before, so for a while my progress on games in general MAY be a bit slower than normal. That being said, I made a ton of progress on some great (IMO) story cutscenes to Necropolis Rising last night, AND I recieved a good review from our friend roonik for none other than Lab Rat #37 via e-mail. I'm going to put the review up in a day or so.

9/4/06: R.I.P. Steve Irwin. My family and I loved your show and you seemed like a great person. Good on ya, mate- You will be missed the world over.

    Feb. 2nd, 1962 - Sept. 4th, 2006

8/29/06: I finally put up a more accurate screenshot of the new status / inventory screen for NR in the In The Works section. On top of that is a great one showcasing another feature of the game as of 2 days ago... Horses! Knights can now also attack on horseback as well as by foot. I also put some mundane animals and things in the game like ducks (shown in a screenie) and butterflies to fill out the environment a bit more and breathe some life into everything. So far, so good- I'd guess I'm about 60% done. More to come..

8/26/06: The last of Necropolis Rising's spells has been finished, and 4 of the 6 areas are complete. Some more information about the game has been updated in the "In The Works" section, but I haven't changed the status screen shot yet. It's been completely redone and looks nothing like that picture now. I'd estimate maybe another 5 weeks or so before it's all done, and won't that be really something hey!

8/11/06: I put in a new screenshot of NR and some better descriptions of the pictures, as well as the known playable overworld sections I have so far. We have Necropolis (evil lands), Dry Sands (desert area), Dead Swamp (take a guess), and the King's Forest (everything else). The King's Forest is a huge area which could otherwise be called the "good guy" lands. This is where the main forces of good and the King's castle can be found.

8/01/06: After a long while away working on the new one, I put some more information and screenshots up on the "In The Works" page. It's called NECROPOLIS RISING, and the early story is a giant war of the living and dead was fought and the armies of good won. So what's the problem, you ask? YOU WERE THE BAD GUYS! So now, after an unforseen incident years later, the evil Necromancer has risen from the grave and he wants his army back so he can continue his swath of destruction to the King's castle! More on this game to follow at a later date, but it's shaping up awesome so far. A more comprehensive preview of the game can be found here at The Daily Click.

7/15/06: It's CRAZY DAXON'S RIDICULOUS SALE BONANZA TIME!!! Yes, that's right! As a show of gratitude for all the support, DXF Games is slashing prices left and right! Just like Daxon might do to a hoarde of pesky skeletons! It's a 50% off sale, and it's CRAZY!! Both Lab Rat #37 and Equin Village are now a whopping 50% off for a limited time. Did I mention it's CRAZY?? Thanks for all the love, people!

7/14/06: Still alive, still around! All the time I can dedicate to programming is going straight into the new one. I'm making a lot of great progress on it, but I don't want to spoil any surprises for anyone just yet. I'm making at least one complete magic spell a night, and any time left over is mostly going into the graphics. Last night's spell was a pain in the ass to do and gave me a lot of trouble, but man was it worth it! I had some time left over so I also made another enemy to inhabit the game world. I'm not rushing this one, and it's a much better game because of it. I'll post a screenshot and more info when I can get a good representation of what the game will eventually look like.

7/8/06: We have a new member of Daxon's Allies, Poland's own FANotherRPG! The new game in the works is moving along as planned, and most of the magic spells have been figured out and written down. (Very important, you know! Plan, plan, plan..) The good news is that this one will support both keyboard and joystick controls, which is nice because I've been testing it on joystick and it's much more fun to play that way.

7/2/06: I have a new game in planning mode now. I've just started messing around with a few new programming ideas for it and started to draw the initial graphics. All I can say for now is that like Lab Rat #37, it's going to be specifically designed to look like a NES-era game. I'm going to concentrate a lot on the actual gameplay mechanics for now. Maybe within a week or so I'll post a screenshot of what I have in development, and most likely information about it on the "In the Works" page.

6/28/06: Well, this isn't exactly GOOD news, but all work on Captain of the Guard 2: Exile in Scumenborough has been halted indefinitely. To be honest, I've just lost the inspiration to continue the project. That's not to say that one day I won't go back and continue / finish it though, because I have done that with some other games in the past. So for now, there will only be the 3 area demo version of CotG2 available here for download. Do not fret though, for I have some rather interesting ideas that are kicking around for other games that should be pretty cool. I'll post when I know more later.

6/21/06: I found an old one, guys! It's one I made back in 2001 and it's called "Undertown". This was back when I was way into the SNES game Eye of the Beholder, which if you don't know is a great dungeons and dragons 1st person dungeon crawler. Undertown was heavily influenced by it, but unfortunately I never finihsed the game, as there's only the castle and 2 dungeon levels that are complete. Actually, this game's inventory system was my prototype for how I did the inventory system for Equin Village, so I kind of owe Undertown a shot into the light if you will. All the characters, skills, abilities, and items are complete, though, so once it's ready in a couple of days you should check it out and have some fun with it. There's really no objective, so you can't really lose!

6/18/06: The next game in the "Home Computer Backlog" series is now available for you guys! It's called "Dark Chamber" and is essentially a (very) poor man's Diablo game I made way back in 2002. It's main thing is that it can be pretty buggy at times, and you never know what you're going to get, but since it's free I say "Why the hell not?". Since I've been so pre-occupied with CotG2, I'm releasing it as-is because I don't have the time to sift through a few thousand lines of code to do all the fixins'. Bien!

6/15/06: The final demo of Captain of the Guard 2: Exile in Scumenborough is now available for download on the games page! It fixes a lot of minor problems, addresses some user input from the evaluation remix version, and adds the 3rd playable area "Creepy-Ass Caverns". Oh, and some new plot developments as well. The final game should be released sometime by the end of this year, god willing.

6/10/06: Roonik has writen a review for Equin Village and it's now up on the games reviews page. Thanks Roonik! Remember, anyone can write a review and send it to me via DXFgames@rock.com and I'll put it up as soon as I can. Have a great weekend!

6/7/06: Two things really. Firstly, there has been some restructuring of the staff here at DXF Games. Good luck to Garror, he's a cool guy and will do great in life and I thank him for his support to the site. The other thing is I've posted a very recent review by Mrque over at the Daily Click for Equin Adventures. He took the time and won the whole thing and wrote a very fair and honest review, so I'm proud to display it with the others here.

5/31/06: GREETINGS FROM THE VOID OF THE COLD HARD REALITY THAT IS THE INTERNET! My god, in the last 20 days the site has been down for 13 of them! Hmmm, so what's happened? Well, Equin Adventures is doing great over at The Daily Click, and not only that but I've released a small demo of Captain of the Guard 2 over there as well. The demo is also available on this site over on the games page. Why don't you check it out? Input is always nice!

5/24/06: Sitesled is back up, hooray! And now, because it is, it's time to unveil the latest of my games from the backlog. This one is the first of my Equin trilogy, called Equin Adventures! It's available for free from the games download page. Try it out, and if you like it, why not give its sequel Equin Village a try too? A just noticed now that the message boards' host, tagboard.com is having difficulties so our boards don't work today. LOL, All right!

5/19/06: Stuff! No, really I put some pictures of  Equin Village enemies on the enemies page. It looked better that way. Also added another screenshot of Captain of the Guard 2's second area boss. Oooooooo! Also, there is another separate board for all things Equin Village so we can get more messages in before they fall into archive obscurity.

5/17/06: Equin Village player 'Roonik' has submitted an item for the website! He found the Frozen Greatsword, and you can check it out on the Equin Village Items page. I also fixed a few type-o problems that I noticed the other day. Hey, you can't have like 5,000 words and spell them all right, RIGHT?

5/15/06: DXF Games would also like to welcome newest ally TYCORP to the fold! I also added the review of the Equin village demo that Hempuli did from The Daily Click on the reviews page. He likes the inventory system, and that was cool because I spent a couple of months on it getting it right. Thanks Hempuli! Everybody, keep 'em coming, we're doing great!

5/13/06: Straight from the Equin Village code comes every monster in the game and their vital statistics! This also includes rarity and special item drops. You can find the entire list off the Equin Village enemies page. I worked on it through dinner tonight, but it should be everything you'll need for hunting monsters in the great outdoors, seas, and caverns. There's also a map of the main Village on the Factions / Places of interest page to help beginners out.

5/12/06: DXF Games welcomes a new ally, DaVince's Website to the fold! And, in totally unrelated news, I just spent basically all night adding the complete random item prefixes & suffixes for Equin Village to the Equin Village items page. GAH! Thank sweet Jeebus it's all over, that took FOREVER! You now must go and check it out, for curiousity has gotten the best of you!

5/11/06 (b): Nice! Just like the Romans stole everything under the sun, I just got a cheapie message board (as seen on DaVince's site) for DXF Games! I put it up above, to replace the "Influences" section since a message board (even a cheapie one) would be better for here. Go and take a look!

5/11/06 (a): Allies from the north ride forth and crush the tides that swell against Daxon's army! Or, in other words, DXF Games is gathering strength (and lending its own) to fellow game programmers who are into the same stuff as us. I'm going to call them Daxon's Allies, but that's Affiliates to you and me, Mack. The first to arrive onto the field of play are the Black Wizards, who hail from a frozen land where they write with circles over their letters and eat strange food. Please take the time and check them out, our affiliate listing is located under the site navigation above. I also made a banner for DXF Games, although there's no LINK to it, since it'd just take you here- and that's just silly. Mail me and let me know if you also want to join Daxon's army.

5/10/06: As a surprise this morning, Daily Click member Tyscorp has revised his review of Captain of the Guard, and submitted it to their site. I have changed his review here to reflect his current one. Thanks Tyscorp, and as soon as anything new about it's sequel Captain of the Guard 2: Exile in Scumenbourough, I'll be sure to post it here. I've also updated the In The Works section to reflect the upcoming game.

5/5/06 (b): Okay, so I just got a great idea while getting the screenshot of the boots up on the page.. Why not offer the same to everybody? On the Equin Village "Items" page at the end, there is now a "Featured Items" section for really awesome rare / great drops. If you're playing and you get something fantastic, why not share it with everyone here at DXF Games? All you need to do is send me a screenshot, where you got the item and what you killed to get it, which hunter took the beast down, and what level the hunter was. I think it'll be fun, let's see what happens. E-mail everything to DXFgames@rock.com and I'll get right on updating the site with your new item!

5/5/06 (a): WOW! Downloads of the Equin Village demo are exceeding expectations so far! I just wanted to thank everyone who has visited the site, and especially the Equin Village homepage. I have been updating parts of the Equin Village pages this week with new things, most notably items. I was doing a playthrough with Zisha yesterday and went into the insect cave when she was level 3. I was doing okay, but then a fire beetle nearly killed me! After drinking an emergency health potion, I proceeded to get the hell outta' there as fast as I could. I was ambushed by an Ant Warrior, but managed to kill it. As a great surprise, it dropped an awesome set of boots for me. They're called "Shocking boots of Scorpions". It's stats are: Level 5 to use, Defense 1, Chance to Poison 10%, Chance to Stun 5%. It was the first set of boots I ever found that had not one but TWO offensive stats. On any kind of armor piece (boots included in this) it's a possibility, but a RARE-ass one. And it came from a pretty low level monster to boot! I'm going to post a screenshot of it when I can in the items section later.

5/2/06: DXF Games is proud to announce that the long awaited Equin Village is now availble for download and purchase! The demo is free, and is pretty large, allowing players to explore up to 80% of the game world should they choose. If you like the demo, return here to DXF Games and purchase the entire full version of Equin Village for only $10 U.S. The full version allows for both normal and hard modes of play, better items and monsters, all the side quests, the ability to actually WIN the game, plus a bonus text file with all the secrets and tips you'll need to rule the game! But whether you've downloaded the demo or bought the full version, tons of information about the game can be found on the Equin Village homepage. Keep checking back here, because more information about the game's contents will be updated about once a week here! Thanks and enjoy!!

4/23/06: Captain of the Guard reaches 200th download milestone! Actually, it happened a few days ago but you get the idea. Yes, DXF Games is proud to announce that our most downloaded game to date has indeed reached the 200 DL mark. This is great news that so many would take the time to download, play, and hopefully enjoy the first in an upcoming series of games featuring Daxon, Zeen, and the gang. For the advertising and promotion we get (read: next to none) this is somewhat of a minor miracle to me. Thank you everybody!

4/16/06: There is now a donation button on the main page under our logo. Donations are done through PayPal and of course optional, but greatly appreciated. If you've downloaded one of our free games and enjoyed it, why not toss a few quarters our way? It will only fuel the inspiration, I assure you! Thanks, and have fun browsing the site!

4/16/06: Lab Rat #37 is now available for purchase! It's only $5 US, which is most reasonable! (We do research on this kind of stuff afterall.). If you're interested, head on over to the games list and click on the Buy It Now button to make the secure transaction through PayPal. Thanks, and keep checking back because Equin Village is next on the docket!

4/13/06: I put up some more info and screenshots of Lab Rat #37 on the games page. It's in the final testing phase now, and should be ready to go by next week! It's very NES-ish looking, which is entirely on purpose because I wanted a game that looked like it might have been on that awesome system back then. As for the subject matter, well, I'm sure NoA would have changed the hell out of the actual game itself. It's pretty difficult too- another staple of a NES-era game!

4/10/06: There's another little NES-ish game I'm making right now that should be available here within a week or so. It's called Lab Rat #37, and basically it's the story of a Medical Lab finally discovering their product after years of testing on mice. But now the mice are considered disposable, and the lab dumps them into a landfill! Only one survives this ordeal and wants revenge for the years of awful things they did to him. Explosive on contact and addicted to the lab's drugs, he races to the top of the landfill to take out the lab on the surface. More on this as it becomes available guys!

3/31/06: You can now see some screenshots and other info about CotG2 on the games list. It's still far away from coming out, but you'll get an idea of what it's like from there. Also, you can now access the Equin Village homepage from the home page. It's finally starting to get nice outside, so have a good weekend!

3/27/06: I'm on a self-imposed vacation this week! I haven't coded a single line for at least a week, and since I don't want to get burned out I'm going to stay away from coding until at least Friday or Saturday. Looking back on it, it's probably the first time in about 10 friggin' years I haven't done any programming at all! Sad, yes, but that's why God gave us guitars and basses to play instead! Bonzer!

3/11/06: I haven't forgotten about the exploits of Daxon and Zeen! I'm working on the sequel to CotG in addition to finishing up Equin Village to get it ready for release. The working title for now is "Captain of the Guard 2: Exile in Scumenborough". It's going to be a side-scrolling Action / Adventure game with RPG elements like skills you can raise by defeating monsters and enemies. It will get its rightful place on the "In the Works" page once EQV is all set.

3/5/06: Because the demo of Equin Village is coming out really soon, please feel free to get more information about the game on its very own page! All you have to do is go to the Games List page and follow the link there. While not everything about the upcoming RPG, it does include a lot of backstory, plus information about the different characters you can play as, places of interest, some items, and much more!

2/21/06: Well, this is probably a wicked cheap-ass way to do a message board but I've started a new group over at Myspace called "Daxon's Soldiers- DXF Games Q&A and Discussion". So if you're a member of Myspace already head on over and sign yourself up. Any questions, comments, suggestions, and yes even REQUESTS can be posted there. Keep in mind though that you have to be a member of Myspace for at least 7 days before you're allowed to post, and in fact I could only post topics for the first time there last night.

2/18/06: Now is the time to unveil the "In the Works" game! It is called Equin Village, and it's a large non-linear RPG. We tried to throw a lot of things into it, and the demo is slated to be released sometime this Spring of 2006, with the full version to be released shortly thereafter.

2/17/06: Hey look, everything looks a little (and I do mean little) better here now! The coloration of the Myspace page looked way better than here, so now the two go together more. Oh yeah, and we still make games too..

2/16/06: Happy Birthday to the Space Ninja himself, Ninja Bradley! 31 years old- great isn't it Brad? Join my ranks, sucker! More relevant, DXF Games is now featured on Myspace.com as well. Yeah, I know it's for dates and crap but hey, it's exposure! The link can be found above under the DXF Games logo. The "Top Secret" game will be revealed soon, as well as a big playable demo of it for you to enjoy, so stay tuned truebelievers!

2/12/06: I have four words for you others who live in the Northeastern United States today: BLIZZAHDS AH WICKED AHHSOME!  Hey, while you are all undoubtably snowed in at home (and not at work like me, ack) why not play another round of Space Ninja and the Killer Veggies? Have you tried the "starting sword" challenge of Captain of the Guard yet? Well, it's snowing like hell- what are you waiting for? Hmmm? HMMMM?

2/2/06: So Killer tells us that although the groundhog has seen its shadow, all he sees is red. Hmmm, what does that mean Killer? Something about shoveling and cedar chips and that little turd that likes to stick on his tail from time to time. Oh well! The game reviews page is now operational, complete with the bad review. It's pretty funny, if nothing else.

1/25/06: We are going to be expanding the website a bit more, with a game review page! Taken from different people's point of views, hopefully this will influence others to try out our stuff! Until the page is officially set up, you can get a sneak peek HERE. Oh, and there's a bad review too, but I figure I'll add the good one first, hahaha!

1/22/06: DXF Games has won its first award from The Daily Click! Captain of the Guard was chosen to be the Game of the Week #168 by the click community! Thanks to everyone who voted, and hopefully it won't be the last award-worthy game from us! You can view the award for COTG on the Games List.

1/17/06: I'd like to thank the good people at The Daily Click as well as other visitors to the site for showing great interest in our games. Our latest one, Captain of the Guard, has had over 70 downloads which is just so cool considering it's only been out for 1 week and we have the exposure of.. a nun.. inside a covered.. wagon. (WTF?) New, powerful wheels now turn and crank noisly here at DXF Games, with the new TOP SECRET section closed off.. for now! Stay Tuned, true believers!

1/13/06: Happy Friday the 13th everybody! Break your mirrors yet? Good! I've improved weapon speeds for ALL weapons in COTG. This will actually make someone WANT to use a hammer or axe now, although swords and maces are still faster. The walkthrough guides now reflect the actual weapon stats as they are now. Oh, and I threw a few more enemies in there just in case you thought the game might get too easy >:)

1/12/06: I added a much-needed element to the battle system for Captain of the Guard tonight. To stop the abundance of "cheap hits" from enemies where they hit you and continue to follow Daxon the whole time, I put in a "weapon stun" feature which should help a great deal without taking a lot away from the challenge (although it IS a bit easier now!). How it works is like this: Swords and Maces stun enemies for approx. 1 second, Axes for approx. 1 & 1/4 seconds, and hammers for approx. 1 & 1/2 seconds. Also, both walkthrough guides come standard with the COTG download now.

1/11/06: Hello! I had a few questions about Captain of the Guard asked of me, so I figured what a fine time to write a complete walkthrough strategy guide for it! It had to be in two parts though, so here they are: COTG Guide 1 , COTG Guide 2.  P.S: It looks like a made a few typos so as soon as I can fix the guides I'll put the new ones up.

1/10/06: COTG will also be featured on The Daily Click's website as well! Check out a lot this and a lot of other great games there!

1/9/06: The Captain of the Guard game is available NOW! And, in a sudden change of heart, it's the full version for FREE! Maybe this'll help me get some positive karma now! You can download it in the Games Page. NOTE: To anyone who has a copy earlier than 1/10/06, you should download the latest one because it has the new "music room" feature included after you win the game. This is one of the best games I've ever made and a ton of work went into it. Feel free to leave any feedback (positive or otherwise) with us at DXFgames@rock.com

1/9/06: Just added a new "music room" option for COTG that will be in the full version. It's pretty funny, I'll post a screenshot of it when I can. It's the only time in the game you can see what the Captain looks like! (He sure looks sorta' familiar...)

1/8/06: The Captain of the Guard's Demo preview is now also up on The Daily Click's website. If you're not familiar with the site, it's a really cool place where people can share their homemade games.

1/7/06: A message to the people who have received a copy of the Captain of the Guard for playtesting: I have discovered a few more bugs in the game that have been corrected and I'll send you each a new copy ASAP. Thank you for your help!

1/3/06: Just worked on a few little things, behind the scenes stuff on the website mostly. But a different screenshot of the status screen / menu of COTG is now up on the Works Page.

1/2/06: Hey, happy New Year and all that jazz. Changed a few things on the "In the Works" page, including a screenshot of one of the game's boss enemies, Captain Garror. The demo is going to be pretty big with a lot to do- the complete version will expand the game a lot past the events of the demo including missions you need to complete AFTER you've "won" the game.
